All change at the top!!!
The 10th standard students at Nirvana school are now taking public exams – for the first time! This is a real achievement and the first year is a transitional year – there will be learning as the school progresses. In order to make this transition as smooth as possible, the school have ensured a dedicated member of staff is focusing on this within the High School.
A new head teacher has been promoted to the Head Teacher of the Nirvana Nursery and Primary School. This is a great achievement for Elumalai Raj – who himself started as a student being taught at the Nirvana School in its infancy. Elumalai is a real asset to the school and his persistent dedication and ambition has helped the school in profound ways. He is a shining example of how far children can progress if they are given the right opportunities.
What were you doing on Boxing Day?
While we are all recovering from our Christmas day festivities on Boxing Day, Nirvana School was busy starting a brand new course at the Adult Education Centre.
We are pleased to announce that the typewriting course started on 26 December 2012. We have 17 students already enrolled and a further 5 expected to enrol. This is a really key course to up skill the local community and to open the opportunity of office work for them. The course will lead to an exam and qualification – which will really help in their job applications in the future.
