The public examination results for the 10th Standard Nirvana students have just come out this morning…. We are VERY PROUD to announce that all 19 students passed the exams! Not only that – around HALF of all students scored over 80% with 3 students scoring over 90%! Congratulations to all the 10th Standard students for their hard work – you have made your parents, the school and many others very proud today! Special congratulations to their teachers, the Nirvana High School headmaster Ranjit Kumar and the management at Nirvana School for the months and months of hard work they put in – they worked extra hours for almost the whole year, putting in that extra time to ensure that each student got the quality education they required for this tough board exam. It’s all paid off!! Pictures, etc to follow as we get them!! Education Is The Answer To Poverty!

At Auro school in Uganda, we discovered early on that students were coming in hungry to school and so the school started providing students with a meal each day. Over the past couple of years, the school has tried to get partially self-sustainable in this area by growing as much crop as possible to feed our students. You can’t learn on an empty stomach! One of the projects we are considering this year to help feed students relates to rearing chicken for eggs. As we have learnt, they don’t require excessive attention and some varieties can provide an egg a day – a good sustainable source of protein! Like if you think we should go ahead with this project!

A nice dinner with Elumalai Raj (headmaster of Nirvana Nursery & Primary School). He has now completed his training visit at the American School in London and is bursting with ideas to implement at Nirvana School once he’s back next week!

A group shot of the walkers that walked (toiled!) for 6.5/13 miles earlier this month as part of the famous annual JAM walk to raise money for One Cause! Many thanks to Diamond Photos of Finchley for taking pictures along the way!
