Virgin London Marathon 2012

On Sunday 22 April 2012, London hosts one of the world’s best events, THE VIRGIN LONDON MARATHON!

One Cause has 4 runners this year that will be taking on the challenge of running the grueling 26.2 miles through London’s famous landmarks to raise money for the charity.

The runners have been training since October last year and have had all sorts of obstacles; be it the fact that they have never done any running before they signed up to this, or the early morning rises for the long runs, or the extreme temperatures of snow, wind, rain & icy conditions or the injuries that all the runners have suffered as a result of pushing their bodies beyond the norm.

The runners are all feeling ready and excited for the BIG day… They now need your help to give them that extra support and cheer as they tackle this massive challenge. Look out for their names on their t-shirts:

  • Sheery Baby
  • Hi Mum
  • Reena
  • Bharat

Are you free on Sunday 22 April from around 10am to 3pm? If so, why not join The One Cause Team in London and cheer our runners along the marathon route!!! The marathon atmosphere is electric and a fantastic day out for all spectators as around half a million people go in to town supporting all the runners, enjoying the weather and creating a carnival atmosphere.

The runners run past London’s beautiful sites, some dressed in costumes, and the crowds come out in their masses to support the runners!!!

We will give every volunteer a t-shirt to wear on the day as a thank you for your time and for the runners to look out for! Feel free to contact any of The One Cause Team for your free t-shirts. Please [click here] for a route planner for the marathon day.

So here’s what you need to do. Email [email protected] with the subject ‘Marathon 2012 volunteer’ and let us know how many volunteers you will bring along. Please give me your mobile, email and address that I can contact you on.

Remember, a marathon is one of the hardest things that any individual can sign themselves up for… so lets cheer them on and help them cross that finish line…smiling!
